Temple Bnai Shalom Sisterhood

Sisterhood is a warm, wonderful, and vibrant organization made up of the Women of Temple B’nai Shalom. We come together in friendship in order to support and serve the needs of our congregants, our temple, and our greater Jewish Community through a wide variety of social events, educational and spiritual programming, fundraising and community service. Sisterhood Book Club - Meets once per month at the home of one of our members to discuss the book selected

Crafty Ladies – A group of knitters and crocheters who work on group projects including hats and blankets for donation to local charitable causes, such as cancer charities, hospitals, and the Crisis Room. Meets twice per month to share and work on projects. Lessons available upon request.

Mah Jongg - This group provides our players with an opportunity to improve upon their newly acquired Mah Jongg skills in a fun & competitive environment. Meets twice per month.

College Outreach - Sending care packages to children and grandchildren of congregants attending college away from home three times per year.

Little Sisterhood – Events planned specifically to include our daughters and granddaughters. May include cooking classes, crafting events, and charitable endeavors. Events we have held in the past include a lemonade stand to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, and a Weekend Backpack Food drive to collect and package food for the NJ Community Food Bank.

Social Action - Local volunteering to benefit the community at large. Opportunities include t Ronald McDonald House in New Brunswick, Crisis Room thrift shop (funding local food pantry), help with community garden plot, and holiday Adopt-A-Family.

Temple Outreach – Welcoming new congregants with a basket of cheer, including challah, Shabbat candles, and a bottle of wine.

Judaica Gift Shop – Located in the Rotunda of our Temple, the gift shop stocks items for all occasions. Stop by and check out our unique selection of Judaica for weddings, housewarmings, b'nai mitzvah, baby namings, graduations, yahrzeit, and holidays. Gift certificates also available.

Tribute donations - Sending a tribute card is a wonderful way to let someone know that you are thinking about them, offer a hearty Mazel Tov, mark a milestone or offer condolences. Please e-mail your tribute information including: Your name and phone number, the name & address of recipient, and the amount of your donation. Email address is Tributes@bnaishalom.com. Checks payable to "Sisterhood of Temple B'nai Shalom" can either be mailed to the Temple attention: Sisterhood, or put into the Sisterhood mailbox in the Temple office.
